Adult Coed Weight Training

Take this opportunity to begin or continue a weight-training program using an assortment of free weights and weight benches. You may work independently, but will be given beginning instruction, supervision and general training guidelines. No class: 10/5 and School Holidays

Buche de Noel
with Abby Snell
Join Snell Farm’s resident baker and kitchen coordinator in creating delicious, seasonal, baked goods and other treats using ingredients right from the farm. Make a Bûche de Noël, a classic, French cake to celebrate the holidays. This is a jellyroll cake decorated to look like a Yule log and is a great project to do with kids. Bring an apron, a notepad and a camera to take pictures! Abby W Snell is a resident of Hollis and alumni of the culinary program at SMCC with over a decade of cooking and baking experience in the Portland area.

Christmas or Manger Herbs
with Betsey Golon
Create a fragrant blend of herbs and flowers to be used as potpourri or sachets for the Christmas tree or to give as gifts. The symbolism of the herbs and a brief history of how these were used will be covered. You’ll go home with some recipes for other projects.

Clinical Medical Assistant Program
with CCI Healthcare
This on-line class will prepare you with the knowledge and skills needed to perform clinical procedures in various medical office settings! Medical assistants with a clinical background perform various tasks including: taking medical histories and recording vital signs, explaining treatment procedures to patients, preparing patients for examination, administering medications, performing an EKG, obtaining laboratory specimens for testing, educating patients, and assisting with minor surgery. Job opportunities are prevalent in physician’s offices, clinics, chiropractor’s offices, hospitals and outpatient facilities. Upon successful completion of this program, you will be eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association Certified Clinical Medical Assistant exam.

Cooking with Essential Oils

Two drops or three? Tease your taste buds with safe essential oils. We’ll start the night with a short discussion on what oils can be taken internally. We’ll do something for the football season, the holidays and something for your sweet tooth, too!
Please bring a small plastic container in case there are leftovers.
