The course reviews the implementation and management of electronic health information using common electronic data interchange systems and maintaining the medical, legal, accreditation and regulatory requirements of the electronic health record. This test prep program meets the necessary requirements to take the National Workforce Career Association (NWCA) Electronic Health Record Management exam and prepares you to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Electronic Health Record Specialist exam.

This comprehensive course will prepare students to enter the pharmacy field and take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s PTCB exam. Course content includes pharmacy medical terminology, reading and interpreting prescriptions, defining generic and brand names drugs and much, much more! Assist physicians by performing functions related to the clinical responsibilities of a medical office. Instruction includes preparing patients for examination and treatment, routine laboratory procedures, diagnostic testing, technical aspects of phlebotomy and the cardiac life cycle. You’ll review important topics including phlebotomy, pharmacology, the proper use and administration of medications, taking and documenting vital signs, cardiology (including proper lead placements), professional workplace behavior, ethics and the legal aspects of healthcare.

This test prep program consists of 140 hours of classroom time. Once you successfully complete this test prep program, you will be eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) national examination and the National Workforce Career Association (NWCA) Clinical Medical Assistant (CMAE) Exam.

Classes will be held at the Learning Center @ Jack Memorial in Buxton. *You must show proof of having a high school diploma or equivalency to get into this program. You will take a short reading test prior to the start date of the class.
