American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR and AED

Save the life of an adult, child or infant by renewing or earning your Heartsaver Basic Life Support CPR course completion card. We'll cover the latest AHA guidelines and skills for performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, relief from choking, and the use of an AED (automated external defibrillator).

This does not qualify for a healthcare provider course.

Note: A $17 fee for completion card payable to instructor the night of class.

 

Cat and Dog First Aid/CPR

Learn how to perform basic First Aid/CPR for cats and dogs in a calm, confident manner. We’ll cover a wide range of topics: bleeding, broken bones, choking, hyperthermia, hypothermia, electric shock, burns, planning for an emergency, and much more. This is a must-attend for dog owners, dog walkers, groomers, boarders, public safety personnel or anyone who wants to be prepared in the event of a pet emergency.

Bring a lunch.

Cost includes book and certificate of completion. All but $10 of the proceeds goes to the Maine POM Project, where pet oxygen masks will be purchased and given to fire/rescue across the state free of charge.

 

Hand and Foot Massage & Reflexology

Reflexology is a system of massage used to relieve tension and treat illness, based on the theory that there are reflex points on the feet and hands linked to every part of the body. Learn a variety of therapeutic massage strokes, reflexology techniques and stretches for your hands and feet. Pamper yourself with a foot soak while we explore which areas of the feet reflect into the various areas of the body. We’ll learn how the positioning of your feet affects the rest of your body and corresponding muscles.

Please bring a basin big enough for both feet and two hand towels.

Come alone or with a practice partner - $20 per person.

Scalp, Neck and Shoulder Massage Workshop

We hold a lot of stress, tension, and pain in our shoulders and neck. Massage is a healthy, nurturing way to take care of it. Facial and scalp massage is very relaxing and calming to the mind. We’ll go over several techniques and each person will learn how to give the massage and get a chance to receive one.

Wear a shirt that allows easy access to your scalp, neck and top of shoulders. Bring a blanket or mat to lie on.

Come alone or bring a practice partner. $20/per person

 

Stress Management with Essential Oils

We all deal with stress in our lives. Come to explore some of the methods that can help reduce the amount and the effects of stress on the emotional, mental and physical levels by using our senses, especially the sense of smell. You will have the opportunity to choose from several single or blended essential oils and then make a foot soak to take with you to use at home. Safety of oils will be addressed. Come and have an “Ahhhhhsome” evening.

Please bring a dishtowel, glass or stainless steel bowl, and a spoon.

Materials fee of $5.00 payable to instructor the night of class.
