Hunter Star Quilt

with Jacqueline Soper

Ann Marie Tucker developed this very unique procedure for cutting and piecing this Hunter Star Block. Her ingenious instructions limit working with too many bias seams, so creating these units comes with much ease. An interesting additional block can be made with the piece of fabric that gets cut off as waste. This quilt is very stunning when constructed using two fabrics. Materials list available from adult ed office. 2 Weeks

Materials List:

• Fabric Yardage requirements for a 54” x 68” quilt, using two contrasting fabrics – 3 ¼ yards for each color fabric, not including borders. A third color may be introduced for a border. ( More fabric is required for a larger quilt)

• 50 wt thread to match your fabric ( I use a gray color thread for most of my sewing)

• Sewing Machine in good working order

• Your sewing kit ( scissors, ripper, threads, pins, bobbins, extra machine needles, etc)

• Stylist (optional, but very helpful when sewing )

• Rotary cutter

• 6” x 12” rectangle ruler
