Sewing for Beginners I - Afternoon
with Lori Roberts
Learn the basics of sewing with us! Start by threading a machine, winding a bobbin and accurately sewing a quarter inch seam. We’ll introduce you to the different types of threads and needles and general maintenance on your sewing machine. You’ll do simple projects each week starting with an ugly potholder, a fabric box, and a wine bottle bag. Build your skills and gain confidence while having fun! You’ll move on and make your own pillowcase, using the “hot dog” method and learn a French seam. You will purchase your own fabric for pillowcases and have basic sewing supplies, needles, thread, scissors and a working sewing machine with a manual. The instructor will provide material for all other projects. The instructor has a sewing machine available for use. 8 Wks
