Sewing for Beginners II - Morning
with Lori Roberts
Build on your knowledge of the quarter inch seam and create more intricate projects, like a Mason jar bag that has a gathered tie, a microwave cozy, or a hot iron carrier/ironing mat. You’ll learn the basics of rotary cutting and reading patterns. You should have basic sewing supplies such as needles, thread, and a seam ripper, a rotary cutter, cutting mat and rulers. You will need to purchase all the fabric for this class. The first project will be a Mason jar bag with a gathered tie. The instructor has a machine available for student use during class. Supply list available from adult ed office. Prerequisite: Sewing for Beginners I, or equivalent knowledge of sewing.
Note: Returning students or those that are comfortable with their machines, may choose to do pajama pants for the first project. You will need to purchase a pattern like Simplicity 2290 or Simplicity 5314, depending on the size you would like to make and purchase material as well. 8 Wks
