Sewing for Beginners
with Lori Roberts
Only 4 days left to register and 4 seats left!
If you ever wanted to learn to use a sewing machine or know how to use one and would like to brush up on your sewing skills, then this class is for you. We start at the beginning, learning to thread your machine, winding a bobbin and to sew an accurate ¼ inch seam. You will make simple projects every week starting with an ugly potholder. While having fun and learning at your own pace you will build your skills and gain confidence. You will move on to making your own pillowcase, using the “hot dog” method and learning a French seam. Students will need to purchase their own fabric for pillowcases and have basic sewing supplies, needles, thread, scissors and a working sewing machine with a manual. Instructor will provide material for all other projects. Instructor has a sewing machine available for use.
About Lori: Lori got started sewing because her daughter wanted a quilt when she was in kindergarten after she had heard a story about a quilt. She was 5 years old. She’s been sewing ever since, for over 15 years! Lori also loves being able to share her knowledge of sewing with beginners who are just starting out as well as others who are learning new tricks of the trade. “Teaching the correct way to use sewing machines to create clothing, display items used for decoration and practical items to use around the house or to give as gifts is such a rewarding experience.”
