This program prepares students to understand and use electronic records in a medical practice. The course reviews the implementation and management of electronic health information using common electronic data interchange systems and maintaining the medical, legal, accreditation and regulatory requirements of the electronic health record. This test prep program meets the necessary requirements to take the National Workforce Career Association (NWCA) Electronic Health Record Management exam and prepares you to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Electronic Health Record Specialist exam.

Pharmacy Technician Online

Assist physicians by performing functions related to the clinical responsibilities of a medical office. Instruction includes preparing patients for examination and treatment, routine laboratory procedures, diagnostic testing, technical aspects of phlebotomy and the cardiac life cycle. You’ll review important topics including phlebotomy, pharmacology, the proper use and administration of medications, taking and documenting vital signs, cardiology (including proper lead placements), professional workplace behavior, ethics and the legal aspects of healthcare.
This test prep program consists of 140 hours of classroom time. Once you successfully complete this test prep program, you will be eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) national examination and the National Workforce Career Association (NWCA) Clinical Medical Assistant (CMAE) Exam.
Classes will be held at the Learning Center @ Jack Memorial in Buxton. *You must show proof of having a high school diploma or equivalency to get into this program. You will take a short reading test prior to the start date of the class.

This comprehensive 50-hour program will prepare you to work as a pharmacy technician in a retail or other pharmacy setting and to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s PTCB exam. Course content includes: pharmacy medical terminology, the history of the pharmacy, pharmacy practice in multiple environments, pharmacy calculations and measurements, reading and interpreting prescriptions and defining drugs by generic and brand names. Through classroom lecture and hands on labs, students will review dosage calculations, drug classifications, the “top 200 drugs”, I.V. flow rates, sterile compounding, dose conversions, aseptic technique, the handling of sterile products, total parenteral nutrition (TPN), dispensing of prescriptions, inventory control and billing and reimbursement.
PTCB National Certification This program meets the necessary requirements to take the Pharmacy Technician Certified Board (PTCB) Certified Pharmacy Technician exam.
NWCA National Certification: This program meets the necessary requirements to take the National Workforce Career Association (NWCA) Pharmacy Technician (PTAC) Exam.
